One of the sectors most affected by the COVID19 pandemics is the industry of tourism. How destinations have been affected is obvious by the total collapse of the economy. What is uncertain are the mid- and long-term consequences of the collapse. It is hypothesized that the collapse of the economy will create negative feedbacks to the the resource that made the destination so attractive. In the case of the cities in the project, Santa Cruz (Galapagos), which is rich in natural resources, and Cuzco and Ouro Preto, which are rich in cultural resources, the pandemic will threaten the attractiveness and the long term sustainability of these cities.
